Copyright and Licensing Policy

Authors publishing in MENTOR Revista de Investigación Educativa y Deportiva retain copyright in their works.

Acceptance and publication of an article do not involve the transfer of copyright to MENTOR or to the Colegio de Profesionales de Recreación, Actividad Física y Deporte (COLPRAFYD).

Right of First Publication

Authors grant MENTOR Revista de Investigación Educativa y Deportiva the right of first publication of the accepted version of the article and authorize its publication, dissemination, preservation, and distribution in accordance with the journal’s editorial and open access policies.

This authorization does not constitute an exclusive transfer of copyright.

Publication License

Articles published by MENTOR are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

This license permits copying and redistribution of the material in any medium or format, provided that the conditions established by Creative Commons are respected.

Attribution

Permitted reuse must appropriately acknowledge the authorship of the work and its original publication in MENTOR Revista de Investigación Educativa y Deportiva.

Where applicable, attribution should include the authors’ names, article title, journal title, volume, issue, year, DOI, and a link to the license.

Attribution must not suggest that the authors, MENTOR, or its publishing organization endorse the user or the use made of the content.

NonCommercial

The material may not be used for commercial purposes under the terms of the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.

NoDerivatives

If the material is remixed, transformed, translated, adapted, or otherwise modified, the modified version may not be distributed under this license.

This condition does not prevent uses independently permitted by exceptions and limitations under applicable law and does not restrict the rights retained by the copyright holder.

No Additional Restrictions

Legal terms or technological measures may not be applied in ways that restrict others from exercising the uses permitted by the license.

MENTOR will not impose additional conditions that conflict with the Creative Commons license applied to published articles.

Authors’ Rights

Authors retain copyright in their works and may exercise those rights in accordance with applicable law and MENTOR’s editorial policies.

Self-archiving of different manuscript versions is governed by MENTOR’s Self-Archiving Policy.

The Creative Commons license establishes the conditions under which third parties may reuse the published article and does not transfer copyright to the journal.

Third-Party Material

The license applied to an article does not automatically extend to images, photographs, tables, figures, instruments, or other third-party materials incorporated under a different license, specific permission, or an applicable legal exception or limitation.

Where applicable, such material must clearly identify its copyright holder, license, permission, or particular reuse status.

Anyone wishing to reuse such material is responsible for determining whether additional permission from the relevant rights holder is required.

Identification in Published Articles

Articles published by MENTOR must clearly identify the authors as copyright holders and display the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license applicable to the content.

Copyright and licensing information must remain consistent across the article webpage, metadata, and published full-text versions.
