Arbitration System
MENTOR Journal of Educational and Sports Research is a peer-reviewed scientific publication that undergoes external peer review using the double-blind method, which ensures the confidentiality of the process by keeping the identity of the author(s) and reviewers confidential.
All articles undergo a formative evaluation by two (2) experts in the field and are evaluated based on the principle of reviewer anonymity. The authors are unaware of the identity of the reviewers.
The Editorial Board conducts a rigorous process of article coding and safeguards the identity of the reviewers. The arbitration certificates received by the reviewer include the code of the evaluated article, preventing the title and author of the reviewed article from being revealed.
In the arbitration process, all participating reviewer arbitrators are listed in the last issue of the year (Issue 3, September-December).
The responsibility for the systematization of the arbitration process and the continuity of the journal publication lies with the Editorial Board, under the leadership of the Director and Technical Editor. In this regard, articles that meet the following requirements will be subjected to the arbitration process:
They must be unpublished and original works and not have been published in other print or electronic media. Therefore, individuals submitting articles must complete and sign the document titled "Declaration of Originality, Rights Assignment, and Author Information."
Only works focused on the treatment and deepening of various areas of Education and Sports in a multidisciplinary manner at the national or international level are subject to review.
All received articles must adhere to the guidelines stipulated in the author guidelines. Otherwise, they will not be considered for the arbitration process and will be automatically rejected.
The Editorial Board will conduct a preliminary similarity check following the specifications in the corresponding document on similarity/plagiarism policies.
During the arbitration process, assigned reviewers may use similarity/plagiarism detection software to verify the originality of the document. If a similarity/plagiarism situation is detected, the reviewers may communicate this appropriately in the evaluation instrument.
Reviewers may provide comments if necessary, which will be sent to the author(s) for the necessary changes through communication to the editorial email rjposso@revistamentor.ec.
Revised and corrected works by the author(s) must be resubmitted to the journal within a maximum period of thirty (30) days.
In cases where the verdict of the reviewers differs (Publication/Non-publication), the document will undergo a third arbitration to reach a unanimous decision.
Works that have not been approved will be returned to the author with the respective observations from the reviewers and cannot be resubmitted to the journal. The Editorial Board reserves the right to verify compliance with editorial guidelines before initiating the arbitration process.
