This work is based on the use of three-dimensional virtual reality (3D VR) environments through Merge Cube to improve vocabulary acquisition and retention in students at level A1 of English as a foreign language. An initial diagnosis was made through vocabulary surveys and structured observation to verify the level of lexical competence and the limitations of traditional teaching methods based on vocabulary memorization. After analyzing the difficulties students face in acquiring the vocabulary required at this primary level, the objective was to propose a group of interactive activities using Merge Cube to facilitate the learning and the levels of motivation and knowledge retention in these students. The research showed significant increases in motivation (75%), attention (75%), comprehension (82%), enjoyment (80%), productive use (78%), and retention (78%), while the improvement in student confidence was moderate (50%). This evidence shows that the integration of low-cost immersive technologies can transform vocabulary teaching, achieving deeper and more motivating learning.
