Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the editorial platform of MENTOR Revista de Investigación Educativa y Deportiva. Before beginning a submission, authors must verify that the manuscript complies with the Author Guidelines, the journal’s focus and scope, and its editorial and ethical policies.
The Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform guides authors through the different stages of the submission process.
Step 1. Start
Step 2. Upload Files
The author must upload the fully anonymized manuscript in Microsoft Word format as the main submission file.
The manuscript must not contain author names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, acknowledgements, funding information, or any other information that could directly or indirectly reveal the authors’ identities. Identifying information must also be removed from the file properties.
Authors must also complete and sign the Declaration of Originality, Authorship, and Responsibility.
When a manuscript has multiple authors, the information and signatures of all authors must be included in a single document. If the number of authors exceeds the spaces available in the form, additional author sections must be added following the same structure.
The Declaration of Originality, Authorship, and Responsibility contains identifying information about the authors and is for editorial team use only. This document will not be shared with reviewers during the double-blind peer-review process.
To complete the upload:
Files containing information that may identify the authors must not be made available to reviewers.
Step 3. Enter Metadata
The article’s bibliographic metadata must be entered carefully into the platform.
The title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in both Spanish and English, consistently with the information contained in the manuscript.
Author information entered as platform metadata will not be disclosed to reviewers during the double-blind peer-review process.
Step 4. Confirmation
Before finalizing the submission, the author must review the uploaded files and registered metadata.
The platform allows authors to return to previous stages to correct or complete information before the final submission.
Once the information has been verified:
Once the submission has been finalized, changes to authorship must not be made without a duly justified request and assessment by the editorial team.
Step 5. After Submission
Once the submission has been completed, the platform will display the corresponding confirmation and send a notification to the registered email address.
The corresponding author may monitor the manuscript’s status through their OJS account and will receive communications through the platform regarding editorial screening, peer review, revision requests, and the editorial decision.
Receipt of a manuscript does not imply acceptance for publication.
The manuscript will first undergo an editorial screening to verify its correspondence with MENTOR’s focus and scope, compliance with the Author Guidelines, anonymization, ethical requirements, and other editorial conditions.
Manuscripts that successfully pass this stage will undergo external double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
Author Charges
MENTOR Revista de Investigación Educativa y Deportiva does not charge authors or their institutions any fees for manuscript submission, editorial evaluation, peer review, editorial processing, copyediting, translation review, layout, publication, page charges, color charges, or DOI assignment.
No article processing charges (APCs) are applied at any stage of the editorial or publication process.
