Currently, due to the recent pandemic situation, adolescents have been unable to experience their physical, cognitive, and social development. This has led many of them to exhibit episodes of depression, including mood swings, sadness, anxiety, disinterest, a sense of emptiness, changes in eating and sleeping habits, feelings of guilt, and even thoughts of death, among other somatic symptoms. The objective of this study is to compile theoretical foundations on physical exercise and depression in adolescents through a bibliographic review so that the information may be useful to those involved in this context. The methodology used was a narrative review, which is characterized by an exhaustive collection of information on a specific topic, allowing for a critical analysis that presents a summary of information from bibliographic sources published primarily between 2019 and 2024. The expected results focus on providing a document that contributes relevant information on the benefits of physical exercise for adolescents experiencing depressive states. This document could serve as a basis for improving teaching methodologies for groups affected by these conditions.
