Sedentary behavior in young adults, influenced by sociocultural and technological factors, highlights the importance of aerobic exercise to improve physical and mental health during leisure time, promoting healthy habits. The objective of this research was to understand the benefits associated with aerobic exercise during leisure time in young adults, identifying common patterns, risk factors, and effective prevention strategies. A systematic review based on the PRISMA protocol was conducted, analyzing 10 selected studies after filtering 2,500 articles from academic databases such as Google Scholar, Scielo, and PubMed. The findings emphasize that well-structured leisure time promotes aerobic exercise, improving physical, mental, and social health. However, sociocultural factors and barriers, such as lack of motivation and limited access, hinder its practice. The importance of inclusive, interdisciplinary programs tailored to the individual needs of young adults is underscored. It is concluded that the planning and quality of leisure time are key to integrating aerobic exercise into sustainable lifestyles. Strategies must be accessible, meaningful, and equitable, overcoming structural barriers to encourage participation and promote healthy habits in diverse populations.
