Abstract

Facilitating the inclusion in Physical Education of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), involves facing didactic and pedagogical challenges aimed at solving the limitations present in communication, socialization and behavior that may occur as a result of having this condition. The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of volleyball as a way of inclusion in Physical Education for students with ASD. A mixed approach was used through quantitative observation and qualitative interviews, selecting a sample of 24 students aged between 12 and 15 years with a mean of 13.54 ±0.98 years, within this group were 3 students diagnosed with ASD. An 8-week adapted volleyball program with cooperative activities and inclusive adjustments was implemented. The main results showed that the group with ASD showed greater cohesion, mutual respect and motor development. The adaptations improved social interaction and sense of belonging, with a persistence of challenges in the inclusive environment. In conclusion, it was established that adapted volleyball promotes inclusion in Physical Education classes, improving social interaction and motor skills in students with and without ASD.
