High-intensity training was used in youth soccer to develop aerobic capacity, although the response depended on age, training load, and intervention duration. The effect of a sprint interval training program on maximal oxygen consumption was evaluated in 14-year-old soccer players from Club Deportivo Especializado Darío Mina. A quantitative study with a single-group pre-experimental design was conducted with 14 male athletes. Maximal oxygen consumption was estimated using the 20-meter Course Navette test before and after a six-month intervention applied twice per week. The mean increased from 45.53 to 50.14 milliliters per kilogram per minute, with an average variation of 10.12%, and all participants showed higher final values than initial values. The observed changes were consistent with previous findings on high-intensity training in youth soccer players, although the absence of a control group limited causal attribution. It was concluded that this type of training could complement cardiorespiratory conditioning in adolescent soccer players when applied with progressive load and controlled recovery.
