Role of the Pedagogical Coordinator in the application of the educational curriculum in public pre-university centers in the Dominican Republic

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of the pedagogical coordinator in the effective implementation of the educational curriculum in public schools in the Dominican Republic. It addresses aspects related to planning, monitoring, evaluation and professional development of the teaching staff, as well as the impact it has on the quality of education in the country. In addition, the challenges and opportunities faced by the pedagogical coordinator in his or her work are discussed. The type of research was documentary, since the search sources were based on documents and research related to the topic, such as SciELO, Redalyc, Dialnet and Google Scholar. The technique used was the bibliographic review, which serves as a support, in order to contribute to the pedagogical accompaniment in favor of the application of the curriculum in an effective manner. Among the results, the guidance provided by coordinators to their pedagogical peers is a fundamental tool to improve their skills and performance in the educational environment. As conclusions, the role of the pedagogical coordinator in the planning, monitoring, evaluation and professional development of the teaching staff contributes directly to improving the quality of pre-university education.
