Self-Care Education: Proposal for the Care of the Informal Caregiver

Abstract

This research seeks to present the problems experienced daily in the context of new informal caregivers, the causes and consequences of assuming the role and its impact on a physical, cognitive and socio-affective level; The objective is to establish self-care actions and strategies through healthy habits workshops, from the area of ​​movement and corporality; Establishing an original work developing it with a mixed approach and descriptive correlational scope, the overall result in the six components is a 14.78% improvement, highlighting exercise with 16%, stress management and interpersonal support with 16.12% respectively; taking as reference other research that mentions the importance of interprofessional work for the training, awareness and support of new caregivers, seeking to reduce the negative impact on different areas of the individual; The conclusion of this work is the importance of recognizing the informal caregiver as an active agent and providing support and monitoring in the process of acquiring and consolidating self-care strategies through healthy habit activities, from different fields, directing it towards a particular benefit that has an impact on social ecosystems.
