Abstract

Dribbling corresponds to an individual action that is very often used by footballers to beat a rival through technical skills. The objective of this study was to analyze the association between the effectiveness of dribbling and the result of the matches played in the 2025 Club World Cup. This research was carried out under an observational, comparative, retrospective and transversal design, with a quantitative approach. The sample was made up of 126 team records, taken from the 63 matches played in the 2025 Club World Cup, taking into account the teams in each match. Procedures such as; statistical data and tests of assumptions, the results of this study conclude that the winning teams in the elite perform a greater number of successful dribbles compared to the losers, which indicates that this action contributes significantly to offensive behavior at a collective level, however, the relative effectiveness of the dribbles (percentage) did not show significant differences between teams that won, lost or tied.
