Factors affecting the academic production in Physical Education teachers

Academic output by physical education teachers is a key element for professional development and the improvement of educational practice; however, in pre-university contexts, a limited generation of scientific products is evident. Within this framework, the study aimed to analyze the factors that influence the academic output of teachers in Educational District 02-05 San Juan Este during the 2025–2026 school year. A quantitative approach was used, with a non-experimental, descriptive design, working with a convenience sample of 20 teachers. A 14-item Likert questionnaire, validated using Aiken's V (0.99) and with a Cronbach's alpha reliability of 0.729, was administered, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS. The results show average levels of research competence, institutional support, and a moderate perception of workload; however, reported academic output remains at low levels. In summary, the findings allow us to describe that academic production in this context is configured from multiple conditions that coexist in teaching practice, where, despite the existence of a willingness towards research, this does not frequently translate into concrete products.
