Abstract

The aim of the research was to analyze the militaristic traditional paradigm in Physical Education in the Ecuadorian context and propose a shift towards a playful and inclusive approach. It focuses on questioning the effectiveness and relevance of the traditional approach, often rooted in military and competitive methods for physical exercises and behavior modulation. This is contrasted with an inclusive and playful approach that encourages participation, construction, enjoyment, cooperation, and autonomous learning tailored to diversity. A shift towards a constructivist model with active methodologies is proposed, aiming to enhance motor learning, well-being, and students' physical health, emphasizing not only physical but also cognitive, social, and emotional skills. Adaptability to the changing needs of society is presented as imperative for offering meaningful and equitable educational experiences.
